    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    - Graduate Intake is fun
    - Good Junior Team
    - Can Purchase Annual Leave
    - Work/Life balance good

    Cons

    - You get allocated to a client or two and you seem to be left there till the end of days
    - Appraisal Process is not transparent and progression routes are not clearly defined
    - if you want to change clients this is not possible and forget asking to move sectors
    - Development is not consistent at all is purely dependent on line manager, some will give you time and others will give you none at all and if things go bad the senior management will look to blame staff rather than the training they did not receive from their managers
    - Very high turnover of staff, all of the good managers and staff have left or are actively looking
    - When staff leave the Management become very negative towards that person and will bad mouth them within the team
    - There is no progression unless you are in with certain members of the Senior Management Team
    - Be under no illusion that this is Mazars, this is an offshoot of the main firm with NO movement between.

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff concerns and look at the Senior Management team and how favouritism has benefited some whilst leaving others who deserve it stuck in jobs that they do not enjoy.

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent employer
    Good graduate scheme
    Partners are really friendly
Many social networking event if you want to join
    Support system is good
    Clients can be interesting

    Cons

Some managers can be a little hard to deal with as during busy season they didn't have time to coach seniors/ juniors, but areas they were not happy about might be recorded into your appraisal system depends on your personal relationship with those managers.

    Advice to Management

Try to offer more constructive advice to juniors and seniors on the spot rather than via only appraisal system. Focus more on productivity than system and controls.

I have been working at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexi working
    work from home
    fresh fruit weekly
monthly health sessions such as pilates, massages etc.
    supportive management
Management will listen to ideas and let you run with it to ensure continuous improvements to our service offering.
Great office environment to work in, modern office
Lots of options to get involved in charitable work
    Dress down days for charity
    Development plans for career progression
At times hectic but still time to have a chat and a laugh with colleagues
Received a LOT of support from management with medical appointments following injury
    Whole array of benefits
    Extra day holiday over Christmas
Huge range of clients to work on
Partners sit directly with their teams rather than in a separate office
Growing business which offers a lot of opportunities to staff.

    Cons

Benefits offered varying depending on the grade. It would be great to see this be the same across the board to add to the one team environment Mazars is keen to achieve.
No secondment opportunities for support staff.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your staff and their feedback on improvements. It makes them feel valued.
As some partners email in the middle of the night, it sets a wrong precedence for staff. There should be "black out" hours i.e 11pm until 6am where staff cannot email. This would also give a positive view to clients as they don't see our staff working at highly unsociable hours.

I have been working at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good for a starter to gain in depth audit experience. Staff especially partner and other top tier is approachable.

    Cons

I believe the salary at Mazars compared to other top firms is low and audit softwares are also outdated comparatively.

    Advice to Management

Management should review the salaries being offered to staff to retain and upgrade its audit softwares as a measure to improve efficiency.

I have been working at Mazars full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a good company to gain a broad experience and deal with many different sized clients. As it is still a small feel business you end up getting involved in a lot you wouldn't in other companies of a similar size

    Cons

Benefits are poor, salaries average and the work/life balance can be challenging some days. A lot of teams rely heavily on a small handful of members when the work outstrips the staff hours.

    Advice to Management

Improve employee remuneration package and make salary scales and progression routes clearer

No clear structure on how to get promoted, it is about who you get along with and the quality of your work doesn't matter.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and straightforward, otherwise chickens will come home to roost.
