    Pros

It's a good company to gain a broad experience and deal with many different sized clients. As it is still a small feel business you end up getting involved in a lot you wouldn't in other companies of a similar size

    Cons

Benefits are poor, salaries average and the work/life balance can be challenging some days. A lot of teams rely heavily on a small handful of members when the work outstrips the staff hours.

    Advice to Management

Improve employee remuneration package and make salary scales and progression routes clearer

    Pros

You can get generous study leave.

    Cons

No clear structure on how to get promoted, it is about who you get along with and the quality of your work doesn't matter.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and straightforward, otherwise chickens will come home to roost.

    Pros

    - Very nice fancy office in the City of London
    - Good reputation within the financial world
    - You get time off for working over hours
    - Decent training

    Cons

    - Not so well known outside of the finance world
    - Difficult to get promoted
    - Favouritism when selecting junior staff for projects

    Advice to Management

    - Ensure all junior staff get enough experience

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice location and on the whole nice people.

    Cons

Benefits and pay are below average for this size of company. Managers and above recieve good benefits, pay and bonus but others get a £200 pa annum allowance which will not cover basic PHI & CI. Lots of young girls getting promoted who are sleeping with their older and married bosses.
Very sales focused and even admin staff are expected to contribute and win work.
Great if like me you need a job in the recession but I will be moving on to better pay. All the above has been recognised again in their "good place to work survey".

    Advice to Management

Retain staff with better benefits and pay for ALL levels or waste your profits on recruitment fees.

Peers made it a worthwhile experience.

    Cons

Barely any benefits, no sight of promotion, poor training.

    Advice to Management

Give all the staff a chance to progress or take charge. Do not show favouritism.

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice immediate team members. Good views if the Tower of London. Recently launched a flexible benefit scheme.

    Cons

Organisation structure was lacking, managers were patronising to the point of bullying (at least mine was; it got to the level that it made me leave). It seemed that they like to overwork you over there with as little support or training possible - proper deep end type.

Expected to work loooong hours. 7am til 10pm meant no work life balance and i'm pretty sure Mazars is the reasons i'm ill these days...

Benefits were a little on the sparse side with 20 days holiday as standard for non management staff...I don't know how i managed. They recently launched a flexible scheme which is a step in the right direction but when the flex fund equates to £16.67 per month (or £200 per annum) it almost feels a little like a slap on the cheek and you kinda want to write to HR and say "here you go luv, keep the flex fund, it's quite insulting really" - to put into perspective depending on your salary the £16.67 is equiv to 1 days holiday.

    Advice to Management

Recruit from bottom up and nurture your staff rather than keep bringing outsiders in. Invest in training time.

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good starting point to your career.
Lots of social event to integrate staff.

    Cons

    -Take business decisions personally
-Poor promotion structure: friends promote friends
-Lack of review and feedback from Management
-Lots of 'backstabbing' and 'trampling' as people try to climb to the top at all costs.
-Lack of personality: Partners don't acknowledge staff.

    Advice to Management

Look at the cons - fix them

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people, interesting clients, focus on quality output, fun environment, part of an international firm with a big reputation (although not in the UK).

    Cons

Long hours with lots of times working away from home, limited promotion prospects, tatty offices, salaries and perks not as good as big 4.

    Advice to Management

Get more staff so that existing staff are not to stretched and advertise the firm in the UK - No one knows who Mazars are!
