I worked at Meijer part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I worked in the midst of the COVID-19 shutdown and was happy to discover that we were getting bonus pay as compensation for our time. If I recall correctly, it was an additional $2/hour on top of our typical hourly wage. It wasn't much, but still appreciated.

    Cons

All the typical nonsense of the service and retail industries can be assumed. People drop shifts, understaffing was a persistent issue during my time there, and general responsibility can be a rarity.

I have been working at Meijer full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing benefits, amazing offices, and I have never worked for a company that actually cares as much as they say. Leaders on all levels take pride in creating a collaborative, productive but fun and supportive work environment.

    Cons

The traditional leadership hierarchy leads to long decision lead times and a slight disconnect. It’s easy to work 60 hour weeks.

I have been working at Meijer part-time

    Pros

-Competitive Pay -Awesome Company culture that seems to really care about the well-being of the worker +They will give a minimum of two days off a week +With Covid, they take health issues very seriously and will listen to you when you aren't feeling well. Other jobs will work you to death if you let them -Awesome coworkers who are kind, patient, and fun to work with (though this is entirely dependent on location) -Lots of hours and potentially lots of overtime during the holidays -Not very stressful work

    Cons

-Short Training period. I was trained for 3 days and after that I was by myself in my position. That's not to say I didn't have help when I needed it though.
