I worked at Merck KGaA for more than a year

    Pros

International. High standards of work. Depending on the department and team where you work, Merck offers a great environment where professionals can really thrive.

    Cons

Slow to make decisions. International, but nevertheless can still be discriminatory. HR is not helpful and some HR people are arrogant. Some colleagues want to keep the company “German”. Training is not always good - it depends on the department and if managers are overworked.

    I worked at Merck KGaA

    Pros

Pays well, potentially lots of opportunities to travel or re-locate. Has the many Benefits of a larger company - if you have worked for a small lean company you might be surprised at the amount of time off, generosity of bonuses, training, etc.

    Cons

Nothing happens fast, entrenched in bureaucracy. So large that it is easy to be overlooked if you want to be rewarded for your creativity, or accomplishments. In the German offices, this is a white, male dominated corporate culture. Maybe less so elsewhere, not particularly "welcoming".
