    working remotely when needed, flexible with time off

    Cons

    executive leadership fails to live out the values and standards they expect of their co-workers. Lacks guidance on direction. Needs to be focused on increasing salaries of lower level co-workers rather than increasing executive positions and promotions.

    Pros

    Strong historical roots in service. The aims, desire, and dedication of the front line providers is overall outstanding. The occasional/rare co-worker not in line with patient-centered care stands out in contrast to the other 99%. Dedication to technology and ensuring solid financial performance to allow for continued best in class care. Effectively market themselves as leaders in the healthcare sector.... Allow for work-life balance as needed. Mission team at the ministry level is outstanding and their support for co-workers shines as an example for all companies.

    Cons

    Dedication to technology does not always translate into better experience for the provider or co-worker. Wins awards but not always hearts and minds. Career advancement opportunity realities not always in line with articulated statements. Sometimes allows the outstanding work done by marketing to sweep challenges to long term success under the rug. Initiatives and focus shift far too frequently compared to... other healthcare delivery industry leaders.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to focus on the providers and front-line co-workers as your strongest asset. The technology and data you want to leverage will not succeed if your mid-level and lower level co-workers feel they are not valued. Don't let awards provide a false sense of security that everything is okay. Ensure that leaders and co-workers are held to the values of the company and that leaders with the best fit with values... are prioritized.

    I have been working at Mercy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    It's a paycheck. Bathrooms have toilet paper, running water and paper towels. Cafeteria has good food. Water fountains work most of the time.

    Cons

    Poor management from the executives to the unit managers Contradictory management direction Constantly changing policies and practices Operate on a shoestring budget for patient care but company executives get paid bank!

    Please leave and let someone do your job who cares more about employees and patients!

    Pros

    Faith based - able to pray with coworkers and patients - amazing coworkers - skilled nurses and physicians. Amazing quality scores!

    Cons

    Huge workloads - constant pressure to do better. Hardly anytime to celebrate successes. Focus more on retention of coworkers not just recruitment.
