    I have been working at Metaswitch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * You learn a lot
    * Will hire graduates even without programming experience and teach them
    * All engineering staff is really intelligent and good at what they do
    * If you prove yourself, you will be given more responsibility
    * Help is generally always available if you're stuck
    * You're not confined to one role, people move around between products and different engineering roles, developer/sales/customer support/testing, you just have to ask
    * Company is making a strong push to grow faster

    Cons

    * The field is very conservative, technology moves slowly due customers being slow to adopt new solutions
    * Salary is only average compared to similar jobs in the area even though the quality of employees is incredibly high
    * Since the company hires a lot of people without programming experience, there is a lack of general computer science knowledge

    Advice to Management

    Make a strong push to educate employees on proper computer science foundations
