Limited development and growth opportunities, must live in South Carolina to advance, poor platform rollouts. Poor communication from HQ to field sales, pay not competitive.

Healthcare and company care do not equal to actual dollars in our pocket. Turnover is high because of pay it not competitive and lack of growth opporutnities.

I worked at Michelin North America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company prides itself on how well it trains and treats it's employees, Michelin really succeeds here. Michelin does a very good job at promoting a good work/life balance. Working a Saturday guaranteed that I would get a week day off which is always nice. The company car is a nice treat along with unlimited personal miles. The experiences that you get with this job are incredible. Travel is an absolute must in the job which I always loved.

    Cons

I found that the company has become increasingly political after the most recent reorganization. Moving up in the company has become increasingly difficult since corporate eliminated many of the positions leading you up to a management role. Compared to many other companies, Michelin's fails to be even close to what you could make working for another manufacturer. It often felt that corporate would say that they were "empowering" only to never ask for feedback and consider our opinions in any decisions that directly impacted sales.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time listening to your employees rather that loading territory managers up with an absurd amount of priorities. Feedback from your people is key in developing the work force and building a company were people truly feel like the CEO of their territories.
