Pros

Hybrid, job is easy, some people are nice

Cons

Honestly, I regret not reading the reviews when I started this job. I went ahead and accepted the job and learned as much as possible. I involved my self in 4 different departments and gave it my all. They said I was doing great and during my yearly review said I had nothing but “positive feedback.” Fast forward a few weeks, I’m now being called out for the TINIEST things. Not replying to emails fast enough (within the same day) etc. I spoke to someone who is the head of HR in another company, and she said this was EXTREME micro managing. (We also had to constantly check in on a status app.) and when that wasn’t something they could hold against me, they bring out something from months before. In this incident, a girl and I had worked together, my laptop wasn’t working and she offered to help. Well, that girl reported me for it AFTER offering to help and lied and said I had encouraged her to lie to management. I even showed them proof of it being her but they didn’t care. When I texted her asking her why she lied etc she showed those messages to management too because this company breeds that type of mentality. I then told the owner that I’ve helped her before and she was just helping me etc and that’s what the reporters here do. And I kid you not, VERBATIM be said, “this is what’s wrong with south Florida reporters, they cover for each other and that breeds a toxic environment.” Which is crazyyyyy because in my opinion that breeds closeness. I love working with ppl who look out for me the way I look out for them. Shouldn’t you as a company want that? Why would you want to pin people against each other? He also said that if other ppl had been missing materials too then I should’ve ratted them out. No, I’m never going to do that. People have off days and I’m not going to risk their jobs over the TINIEST of things. But anywho, that’s the kind of mentality they have here. And I did SO much for them because I genuinely wanted to make it a great place to work at and they didn’t even take more than 10 mins to let me explain etc. Anyways, please save your time and come yourself another company who will value you and not cause you problems after the tiniest of issues, especially when you’ve never had any issues with them prior to this.

Pros

I worked for milestone for almost 2 years and during that time I picked up extra jobs last minute, was always available when needed, traveled for the company and made lots of connections. I had health problems that resulted in me being out on FMLA. During this time nobody contacted me to do any paperwork, which was a violation of FMLA rights, and they harassed me relentlessly to not only perform job tasks while out on FMLA but then tried to threaten me with police for not responding to them in a timely manner. Before any of this I was denied an annual review and not given any sort of raise. We’re paid well under the industry standard too. The new position I have pays me nearly triple what milestone paid its reporters and they also demand you work multiple positions without any additional pay. Benefits were useless, and management was okay as long as they liked you. If they didn’t like you, you got treated terribly. Basically all the bad reviews here are 100% true and I feel like the positive reviews is management trying to save face quite frankly. Scheduling is understaffed and over worked, and everyone in management is very gossipy and catty. I’m thankful for the experience but glad to be gone and on to better opportunities. Highly recommend looking at other companies before applying to milestone. Their reputation in the legal field is great, but their employees are severely underpaid and overworked.

Cons

Underpaid and overworked employees, expected to work multiple positions outside of reporting, gossipy and catty management. Scheduling sucks but it’s probably going to be that way in any court reporting position so that’s not entirely their fault. seeing negative reviews still coming in only reassures me it wasn’t just me who felt this way.
