A culture of what I hear described as strong management and close oversight but felt more like a bullying culture from very senior managers. So much scrutiny that it was impossible to move anything forward. I left as I didn’t feel I could be professionally competent in my role as there was so much scrutiny and performance monitoring and this got progressively worse to the extent it took over everything and in the end I was desperate to leave.

What a breath of fresh air it is to work here. I felt valued from the moment I arrived, with engaging management and helpful colleagues.

Like all public sector employers, the role involves walking a tight political line and working with members can be challenging but also enjoyable

Your department manager can refuse you flexi-time I had to take a 1/2 days holiday to take my son to hospital appointments and when I was late back she was on the phone to me and told me I have to take a whole day as I was 30 mins late but considering I had flexi-time contract, you get the feel of what it was like
