Great engineers, terrible leadership.

Pros

Work interesting for most engineers - lots of variety. Some excellent committed and experienced engineers work for Mindspeed.

Cons

Workforce reductions constantly occuring - colleagues often get made redundant without any warning. Questionable leadership - no idea why they are still in charge as the company hasn't really gone anywhere in ten years. Most staff have no confidence in long-term future.

Culture of threats and bullying. Miracles are demanded yet resources are abysmal. New ideas don't get implemented due to budget constraints No transparency if you are not CEO staff Zero regard for employees

you get to wear multiple hats as an engineer.

Cons

Engineers are not respected. Very polarized place. Tons of politics for a small company like Mindspeed. It has a One-Man-Show culture. The company has no vision or outlook six months ahead. Everything is ultra urgent and needed to be finished yesterday. Support structure (tools, network, etc.), system group is very weak.
