RecommendsPositive OutlookI worked at MinterEllison full-time
Pros
- Despite being a top-tier, down-to-earth people who don't take themselves too seriously - Partners who genuinely care about the wellbeing of their teams - Ability to learn from some of the best and smartest lawyers in the country - Intellectually stimulating and challenging - Salaries starting to become more competitive - Genuine overseas work opportunities
Cons
- Long hours (like any law firm) - Bonus system doesn't always work (if you're the victim of write-offs out of your control) - While partners do genuinely care about the wellbeing of their teams, the work still needs to get done. So while they're still being grateful and appreciative, they're not exactly going to say "please don't sacrifice your night/weekend to get that done", rather they'll say "thank you for sacrificing your weekend to get that done, I really appreciate it".

Pros

Cons
Long hours, as is the case for most big firms Administrative support not as good as it claims. PAs and EAs are overworked and lawyers will need to take up a fair amount of admin tasks. Pay below market Office politics and bullying is rife
