I have been working at Mitchells & Butlers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you are looking to progress within the company, the opportunities are certainly there. If you put in the time and the commitment, you will he noticed and rewarded. House team are amazing and it's like my second home.

    Cons

Keep an eye on your wage slips and make sure that you log your hours privately incase of any errors. These are normally corrected very quickly.

    Advice to Management

Is there a better way to log hours in terms of actual timesheets? The computer system is certainly hit and miss.

I have been working at Mitchells & Butlers full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Development, majority care about people and are genuinely doing their best for the people they work with, great discounts, comparable pay for industry.

    Cons

Some sexism still exists, company are fighting to irradiate but we have a lot more work to do. Harassment I don’t believe is an issue but disparity in pay and opportunity as you develop is.

    Advice to Management

Continue on the path, change is never easy for anyone but the results are coming. Increase consultation with frontline team and RBMs with regard to consistency of management and sexism.

I have been working at Mitchells & Butlers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work is amazing, some teams are great to work with, progression is there for your taking, rewards are beneficial. Nicholson brand are the best to work for.

    Cons

Some brands are totally different for be. E. G. Sizzling is the worst brand to work for, RBMs are useless they love to cut hours here and there make teams work more and harder with less hours, the training tool they use "Mable" is an absolute joke, it's more of hindrance than a help,
They don't like to help or support when needed they say they will but never do, KMs are abused left right and centre by the GMs all this is just in sizzling as I've experienced this, but I've been told other brands are similar experiences.

    Advice to Management

Head Office pay each brand the same its all. One company regardless of what each brand represents.
RBMs should work like there teams do, even if it's once a week or month so they can experience what there team experience on a Daily basis, also offer more help to KMs as they only like to help GMs
GMs listen to your team more and work alongside the team instead of against, and stop being hypocritical.

My boss is great and very understanding, the hours are flexible and working in such a sociable environment is very fun

    Cons

Hours can vary from 20 one week to 45 the next so your pay can be a bit up and down

    Pros

Social enviroment, some managers are good

    Cons

    Poor working hours
    Poor Pay
    Expected to always be available

    Advice to Management

Allow staff to book holidays - Don't hire managers with no personal skills - had a manager that would ignore every complaint, because they had no idea on how to talk to people politely

Obviously the natural cons that come with working as a busy waitress anywhere. Can have long and unsociable hours, can be called to work on days off. Minimum wage- but that's expected.
