I worked at Monarch Air full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Enjoyed the friendly family atmosphere, the planes, the work and the job. Good place to work

    Cons

Don't have anything negative to say. Have to put something here so this will go through

    Advice to Management

    Keep going

"Fired via email... And had a 95% pass rate as an instructor."

    Pros

Great fleet, and completely amazing maintenance staff. The aircraft were always ready to go, and spent minimal time in the hangar.

    Cons

Extreme lack of communication, and consistent HR violations. I was fired with no cause and told it's policy not to discuss why, which is legal. But to do so via email as I drove into work isn't the best way of doing it.

    Advice to Management

Come to work, and care about your employees. Also, if you notice an employee that's not doing something the way you'd like talk to them as it says you will do in the employee handbook. And if the choice is made to fire someone, do it in person, nothing is more unprofessional than to lack the ability to sit down face to face with an employee. Finally, know basic HR and Labor laws. If you fire someone, they must be paid in 6 days, that's the law. And don't not pay employees for mandatory meetings. And make it unofficial policy that if you have nothing to do flight wise, you are to sit up there and not be paid.

I worked at Monarch Air as a contractor

    Pros

The schedule is flexible and the equipment is the best in the DFW area for training and renting.

    Cons

Typical CFI pay and the charter department isn't much better.

    Advice to Management

Come to work... Act like you care about your employees.
