I have been working at Monarch Airlines full-time

    Pros

The people, the company had a nice atmosphere. Despite how I feel about the amangement of the company, the one thing I will say is that they didn't bully their staff like some companies.

    Cons

The main con is the fact that they have gone bust! I'm not sure if we had better management if it could have been saved as it has been rocky for years, eveb before AS took over as CEO. There still seemed to be a lot of money being wasted when really we should have been battening down the hatches, although maybe in the grand scheme of things this money was nominal and the outcome would have been no different. I just get the feeling they were in denial about the companies problems and just carried on as if we were cash rich,

    Advice to Management

No advice, the companie no longer exists.

I worked at Monarch Airlines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The great people there makes Monarch. Worked in the finance team and I really enjoyed my time at Monarch Airlines but it's a shame the company has gone into liquidation.

    Cons

Lack of communication between management and operations as there is some sort of barrier between the management and other level staff which makes it seem the you can't approach the management.

    Pros

I met some lovely friendly people in other departments, shame I wasn't working in their departments. I'm sure it would have been a better experience. Monarch Airlines on the whole is a good company and is going in the right direction, it has a lot going for it.
I'm dissapointed that it didn't work for me, I'm sure it could have been very different had I have been working in a different area.

    Cons

Cabin Services management are dissapointing. I soon became very demotivated. They need to focus on how to motivate their staff. Don't be so quick to point out and judge people for not working fast enough, expecting them to complete all tasks even if not fully trained to do so, and being a team member down. Never once did they give any praise for the tasks that were carried out well. After working in the airline industry for a very long time I have never experienced such negativity. I began to doubt myself, until a few people from different areas of the business approached me and with no influence from me, they told me that it wasnt one of the best departments to work for. I was also told don't ever think it's you that's wrong, don't doubt yourself. Just those few words alone was a real boost for me.

    Advice to Management

As a manager you should learn how to address people and carry out feedback in a positive manner rather than demoralise them.
