    Pros

    Cons

If you are a Learning Designer/Instructional Designer who is passionate about designing engaging learning experiences, do not come here. No, you will not be using eLearning authoring tools or other tools. You will be building the academics awful content (just text) straight into a Moodle shell that is reminiscent of an early 2000's LMS, with absolutely no UX design. The academics have the final say on everything so there is no creativity to design anything interesting or engaging for students. You will simply copy their awful content into an awful online format. The academics (except in the education faculty) have no understanding of pedagogy or principles of teaching and learning in any setting, particularly in online learning. Managers are inept and unable to make decisions and the upper hierarchy do not hold academics accountable to educational standards. You will not be supported in any situation where you disagree with an academic, even if it will lead to poor learning experience and outcomes for students. This is where real Learning/Educational/Instructional Designers come if they no longer want to design anything interesting or constructively aligned. Avoid at all costs!
