    Pros

Good designs, great equipment, modern facility, tons of new products..

    Cons

Excess turnover! Cannot keep production personnel. New product introductions are hasty!

    Advice to Management

Start acting more "American" and less German!

I worked at Montaplast full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very few and struggle to come up with good things to say. Good people work there, with few bright spots in upper management. Decent insurance. Operators make decent money.

    Cons

Company does not pay out remaining vacation time even though you worked for that time and you left on good terms. Very overtime heavy work/family balance is not a concern there. Equipment in bad shape and techs are expected to fix stuff with minimal resources.

    Advice to Management

Review your shift plant managers, teach them how to communicate and show mutual respect, and above all listen to your work force.

    Pros

    Decent pay and decent benefits.

    Cons

This was without a doubt the worst company I have every worked for. Management was constantly disrespectful to me and my fellow employees. It was disrespect on a level that I had never before encountered, so when I left I did a big happy dance. The high turn-over rate is legendary in the area. If you can avoid working there please do so. Take a little more time to find another company, any other company to work at.

    Advice to Management

Learn from my 4 year old on how to treat people.

I worked at Montaplast full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good technology for manufacturing but was very against continuous improvement.

    Cons

Management is horrible. They state that we have always done things this way and will not change even if it were for the better. The job itself was very boring and not challenging. One day your manager would tell you to do something and after you complete it, question you why you did this, like he did not ask you to do it. The companies quality is very poor and the company has a history of being put on new business hold from Ford, GM and Chrysler. I would be very careful when dealing with this company. They do not value their employees and will replace you at the drop of a hat.

    Advice to Management

I would tell the owners in Germany to get rid of Executive Management and mid level Managers. A major change of direction needs to take place. They do not see the issues as when they come to town the management will put on a show for the owners.

Community focused, strong customer base, employees are committed and supporting, in beautiful area of rolling hills of Kentucky, cost of living in area is good.

    Cons

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Montaplast full-time

    Pros

Quality department was actually close to proper staffing, and QM's did not micromanage. Good place for a self-starter, someone who feels comfortable being set loose to do your work and help the company save money. They keep a good balance between chaotic (from taking on a lot of new business) and controlled. They must be doing something right, as they've been in business for a good many years.

    Cons

    Not a liberally progressive company
    Little training offered
Company relies heavily on technology to catch quality defects.
    Company does not PM tools
