    Cons

    Advice to Management

when somebody leaves a team replace that person instead of leaving that persons work to the remaining team members. 1 person doing a 4 man job isn't good for employees or the firm.

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

some good people to work with and learn

    Cons

Worked at MS for more than 6 years in various different teams. It’s a very toxic atmosphere in most departments, staff turnover is high and morale is low. Managers are promoted who don’t have the necessary people skills to manage people. There is a reason the firm is always looking for people, they can never retain their staff. Went from being the newest member of a team of 10 to the most experienced in the space of a year when everyone left. Expect to do long hours (10 hours a day minimum) and get minimal pay for this. The annual bonus/pay increase is terrible. They do not pay for being loyal, if you want more money, leave and then come back where they will be compelled to offer you the market value The Firm has a horrible mindset of when an employee leaves make the team carry the weight of the work while a request is made for approving of a head which can mean months before you have replacement - but that just saves them $$$ I wish i had left sooner, don’t make the same mistake if you want a work, life balance
