I have been working at Morgan and Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Attorneys can be emotionally supportive of staff with all of the terrible changes that have been made lately but are not able to protect you from being fired

    Cons

Upper management is constantly changing, high turnover, Micromanagement and big brother style spying, low pay, expensive health benefits, low 401k matching, no profit sharing, constant fear of being fired, always changing the rules and not keeping promises

    Advice to Management

Give annual bonuses, bring back some professionalism and class, stop the purge of good employees and people

I worked at Morgan and Morgan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free parking, semi-frequent free food, full-ish(see below) benefits. Promotes from within.

    Cons

Sexist, misogynistic, and Racist work environment. I am one of about 10 POC in my office, I have felt very uncomfortable with some of the leadership's company-wide communications.

The company culture revolves around drinking and money that only the attorneys see. Very low pay. You will do so much work and barely make a living. Low amount of days off and PTO accrued in the first year. No mental health services offered through benefits or company, even though it is a very stressful job. Unable to stay overtime even though workload calls for it. Raises based on length or employment, not merit, certainly not equality. Training is nonexistent. Catty work environment.

    Advice to Management

Provide mental health services; embark on a diversity initiative and hire more POC and women in leadership; raise base pay, you are fighting for 15 and don't even pay some employees that.

I worked at Morgan and Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Newly renovated suite. Nice views, decent pay,

    Cons

Low pay, poor management, high turnover, discrimination. Terrible location

    Advice to Management

Spread out your "diversity. All of the big guys in the corner offices are all white males, the mid level marketing team was predominantly white, the lower level call center was 99% black and hispanic females lorded over by white supervisors. Im sure there are qualified folk of color that can have one of those corner offices or even a management position. In addition, the offie folk never spoke to or acknowldged the presence of other employees, We didnt know ho half of them were or what they did.

I worked at Morgan and Morgan full-time

    Pros

    Free parking
    Location is nice
    Pay was decent

    Cons

I guess I thought that working for the “medical marijuana” “for the people” law office would be a cool experience. Wrong. It was a negative, elitist, and racist environment that made me anxious and depressed.

During the interview, they painted a picture of teamwork and everyone "learning the ropes together". Couldn’t have been further from the truth. They expected painstaking, tedious tasks done at a breakneck pace with no mistakes.

Office environment was very catty. Worked with two paralegals; we’ll call them A and B. The one I worked directly under was A. She was totally disrespectful to everyone but the attorneys, but especially rude to me. Paralegal B on my team was nicer, but still found it acceptable to talk trash about me within earshot on two separate occasions. At least she expressed regret after paralegal A got me fired saying she didn’t understand why paralegal A was such a [redacted] to me.

HR is a complete joke. Ran by a woman who has a reputation for being nasty and vindictive. She decided to let me go in the middle of the work day for my “poor performance”, making me pack my things in front of everyone while two mail clerks watched and escorted me out. Totally humiliating and unprofessional.

Bottom line: Don’t work here, especially if you are a woman of color.

    Advice to Management

Fire that terrible HR lady and find someone who is dedicated to improving the work culture at the Jax office.
It's hard to concentrate on doing your job correctly when you're dealing with bullies and "Mean Girls".
