I worked at Mu Sigma full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Immense experience right off the bat. So many people go on to amazon companies and for their masters to amazing universities (UC Berkeley, Columbia, Duke etc)

    Cons

Long working hours, compensation is lower compared to industry standard. Join Mu Sigma to learn quickly and then switch after 3 years

  2. "Alot to learn when in mu sigma"

I worked at Mu Sigma full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    1. Talented and motivated trainee decision scientists 2. Good learning about analytics problems in the industry and domain one works in 3. Interaction with SVP + level clients from the beginning

    Cons

    1. Politics is very bad in the mid-management and levels above. People will throw you under the bus without thinking twice. 2. Very difficult to get variable pay because of the ridiculous appraisal system which is not objective and luck based rather on individual effort and contribution 3. Attrition rates are very high. You will constantly loose team members. Difficult to maintain delivery quality and long term projects with high attrition rates. 4. No defined career track post the AL position 5. Lack of structure and policies 6. Lack of definition in roles and responsibilities especially if you are in a small account where you are expected to handle both delivery and BD. This leads to insane working hours, constant pressure for revenue from management and if no growth is shown there is miniscule variable pay (despite working 12-14 hr days with unwanted stress). 7. There is no focus on quality. No quality and high experienced talent in analytics, data engineering and business practices. Information is siloed in some big accounts, from whom getting information is a task. 8. Laterals might face a lot flak in the organisation. Be prepared to impress the homegrown folks at the earliest otherwise you may find your work life to be miserable. Some homegrown ALs and DSs have a lot of ego. 9. Difficult to get a job after the AL role as a lateral as generally there is no hands-on experience and job market wants to understand responsibilities (which are undefined) 10. HR policies about work timings, no WFH, lunch-dinner timings, leaves etc. are the worst part. There are many more problems. I choose to stop at 10.
