I have been working at NHS part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good pension but we're going to be working until we're dead so... Flexible shifts, staff benefits are competitive compared to other companies, stable job

    Cons

Where to start... it took 9 months from being accepted for the job to actually starting the job, the recruitment process was a total joke it was so slow and inefficient; recruitment appointments were spaced months apart when I could have done it all in one week. They refused to pay me 50 hours of mandatory training because it was completed more than 3 months ago?? (despite being told before I signed the contract that they would pay me for all mandatory training I completed). What sort of rule is that? I mean it's not as if they need nurses anyway is it. Inefficient systems and the computer software often crash and does not save data, so you must repeat the task, reported to IT months ago and still no improvement. Decisions by management concerning employees is about following rules rather than using common sense or just doing the ethically right thing. So disorganised and disjointed it is a total nightmare trying to get anywhere, employees are treated like a disposable workforce
