I have been working at NICE Actimize full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Organization is in a pivotal growth time between start up and full organization.
Here, you have the opportunity to seek out areas for improvement and be a creator with practices that make a mark. There are initiatives across the organization that are focus on elevating positive change, career development, enhanced customer relationships and strategic change management. Strong customer focus and fast paced culture that continues to raise the bar for excellence. Work space and location. Surrounded by smart people who have fun doing what they do.

    Cons

Leader in financial crime and compliance technology, but operates on outdated processes and systems in some areas. This will continue to evolve in time.

    Advice to Management

People are the most valuable asset. Continue to tap into them and leverage your talent pools to grow.

"Good Experience in Enterprise Software and AML Compliance"

I worked at NICE Actimize full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Good experience with Actimize enterprise software deployment, AML compliance and business requirements
    - Chance to work on-site at top international banks
    - Opportunities for international travel to client sites
    - The Professional Services team is quite collaborative and knowledge sharing is encouraged through the organisation through tools such as Yammer and internal Wiki sites, as well as in the internal tracking system "Tracker"
    - Good benefits including free breakfast on Friday, gym contributions (Virgin Active), health insurance, 5% pension contributions

    Cons

    - Sometimes not much variation of work, I worked on AML deployments for the majority of my 6+ years. It would have been nice to work on other LOBs, such as Anti-Fraud, WLF etc. However, the AML solution was extensive and complex.
    - There was not much emphasis on quality and testing of the product, and too much emphasis on selling the product and getting it to the customer straight out of development, which lead to many uncomfortable defects being encountered at the client site, which more thorough product testing should have ironed out.
    - The developers were perhaps not trained or knowledgeable enough on the AML/compliance business to fully understand the requirements they were coding, and this often lead to defects on dev and test which would hopefully have not happened if the developers were more knowledgeable of the business area the company serves (AML/compliance)

    Advice to Management

    - Provide better business context training (AML/compliance) for R&D and PS
    - Enable employees a greater scope for personal development and training, perhaps more variety of training courses such as technical skills development, business skills development, management skills development.

I worked at NICE Actimize full-time

    Pros

    Lean business
    Established Market Leader
    Joe is a good leader

    Cons

    Difficult culture
    Minimal investment
    Travel policies

    Advice to Management

Honestly, Joe is doing his best whilst being cash cowed by NICE. (Joe is the management.)

The last decade, Actimize was THE financial crime detection player in the market. And they have ridden that wave, but through the last few years of "keeping the lights on investment", staff attrition and brain drain, the company will start to be exposed. Never a marketing company, Actimize is now depending on marketing to cover old, bug filled tech and attempting to convince companies they do machine learning.

My advice to Joe, and ultimately NICE, would be to sell now, because in two years, the decline will start and not stop. There still is time to save Actimize but it's coming to a close quickly.

Also, the travel policy is the worst in the tech industry. Forcing people to fly 14 hours in economy, and put in budget hotels for a 2 day trip is beyond anything reasonable in this market.

I worked at NICE Actimize full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work, good pay, lots of travel

    Cons

Complete lack of strategic vision and an obsession with numbers that don't support the obvious struggle to maintain relevance
Most staff are recruited directly from Israeli Military with zero industry experience and then quickly declare themselves experts whilst not having any insight or experience. A real lack of industry experience.
Poor corporate culture and endless rotation of under-performing managers into new role with zero accountability for cock-ups
Technical Innovation is loudly boasted but mostly is vapour-ware.
Over reliance on childish incentive schemes (best family photo wins $200) instead of actually listening to staff concerns.

    Advice to Management

Stop dining out on past victories and recruit some staff with real-world experience, not dilettantes

I have been working at NICE Actimize full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A good portfolio of historically acquired clients makes for credibility in the market. Some good staff benefits on birthdays, casual Fridays etc and good offices.

    Cons

New disruptive competitors have/are eroding the historical #1 position because the company has woefully underfunded product development and consequently has lost its position as thought leader. This is acutely so in EMEA where local legislative requirements have been ignored in favour of sorting US requirements.
The sales controls and management of the NICE holding company (with different sales cycles and requirements) are being imposed down in to Actimize for the sake of global consistency, but it ignores the important differences and becomes managing the statistics rather than managing the sales cycle. The impact is that many staff in EMEA feel that our needs are not being listened to or catered for in a drive to get a NASDAQ price at all costs

    Advice to Management

Listen to local management and don't write them off as whingers

    Cons

Management is distant and the company's tech may not be up to speed with latest trends anymore. No career development to speak of.

    Advice to Management

invest more in the people, try to read the market and invest in new cutting edge technology.

    Pros

Great product. Fairly relaxed atmosphere. Nice place to work if you know what you're doing

    Cons

Very little management oversight. Not a place for inexperienced professionals. Very little support for those involved in project delivery. Almost non-existent career progression framework. Too much in hock to clients, especially Tier One.

    Advice to Management

Support those individuals involved in solutions delivery. Offer attractive training opportunities. Train managers. Ensure managers actually have people management skills. Stop using useles surverys to pretend everything is alright.

    Pros

The company allows you to work in autonomy and trusts you to deliver

    Cons

There is some initial direction given but you can feel like you're on your own with little help.
There is also a sense that the product team, or many other areas of the company, support the PS projects once it's been sold

    Advice to Management

When speaking to the customer speak with a company voice rather than have the R&D team try to throw PS under the bus
