    Pros

    Good people, lots of fun.

    Cons

No free meals only half price. Griller had too much work to do compared to other employees.

Add another staff member to the kitchen to coordinate the orders.

I worked at Nando's Canada full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Not many come to mind

    Cons

Where to begin... Management is a complete mess. As an employee you are constantly undervalued and underappreciated. Constantly understaffed which made for long wait times for guests and stressful moments for staff. When dealing with HR over incredibly unprofessional management members, it's a complete waste of time. You are shown in more ways than one that you are not valued. You were also told on a consistent... basis how the business was failing so you felt like you were going in to support a failing business which is not fun. They also want you to make the restaurant your whole life and pretend it's super family oriented when it's far from that.

    Advice to Management

When more than 6 people come forward about poor management. Maybe don't completely ignore them and fire the person? Ridiculous. I'd suggest scrapping the entire management team at a certain location but the higher ups should know. Not that they actually have a finger on the pulse of things so to speak.

I worked at Nando's Canada part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Paid hourly plus tips Paid sick days

    Cons

Didn’t get any of my earned tips until 2 months working there 5 hour shifts, usually cut down to 3-4 hours One of the worst places I’ve ever worked at. You are trained to be part of a “family”, but in reality it’s just another low-end server job where you are expected to be a cashier/server/host/phone operator. “Buddy” trainers act like supervisors and micromanage you Management is more concerned with... keeping wage cost down; which means not enough staff to cover your shift if you’re sick. Calling in sick and asking others to cover shifts is frowned upon, even within a weeks notice. Booking days off is impossible, management does not respect the “request book off” booklet Staff is extremely cliquey and negative (gossip, etc) Toxic working environment

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect Be honest when hiring employees about shift hours (5 hours) and position (I was hired as a closer and not told until 3 months into career) Discourage ‘buddy’ trainers as acting like supervisors Improve management communication (I was told different ways of doing one task by every manager)
