Pros
Having progressed from cashier to Assistant Manager myself I can say anyone can progress in this company as long as they keep pushing themselves. Amazing benefits including free food, discounts, an achievable bonus(most of it anyway) and the possibility of being sent on a conference abroad. Currently offering a decent salary for what you do, however they need to be careful with how they deal with the next pay rises as having hourly paid staff earning more than managers is very demoralising.
Cons
If you have a small management team it can be very challenging finding the time to do everything to keep the restaurant doing well. Like with any restaurant job it can be stressful when you don't have enough staff due to illness or just bad forecasting. Customers will not understand this so you have to keep finding new ways to push staff to go that extra mile.

Pros
Free food on breaks Family discount Good staff Paid breaks
Cons
Late nights , bad managers that don’t know how to run the place , Work/life balance is terrible . Expected to come in on days off . The pay gap between buddy’s and supervisors is pointless . Supervisors do the exact same work as assistants and stay extra hours and get paid significantly less . It’s so tiring and stressful and the job really plays on your mental health (the bad management ) Have had the worst experience

Pros
Discounts are fair, 20% on weekends and 40% on weekdays. As a supervisor, if you’re an internal, you usually have the same control as a manager.
Cons
Terrible management above. People are tired of working at Nando’s and they make sure that everyone knows it. Patraos are not properly trained and then blame the management team because numbers are not right. Payment issues at least once every two months. Nobody really knows what’s going on there. Trying to step as many people up as they can because they lack managers but forget that people need to be trained as well. No communication between staff and management team. Recruitment, as everywhere, a bit of a nightmare but they still blame the management team when there’s no staff whatsoever. Supervisors have to pressure staff into cover shifts. Poor management skills Oh and you get paid £0.10 more than a buddy, even when you’re doing the job of a second assistant.

Pros
Fantastic insight into how a business works; assessing and utilising KPIs and people management are some of the things you learn in this role. The people are amazing for the most part, very supportive.
Cons
Work long hours, typically over the 38/week. It can be difficult to make up the lost time.

Cons
-Often understaffed which leads to hectic & stressful shifts -Working almost, if not every, weekend -Management tends to ignore issues raised & also ignore and don’t take into account staff’s mental health -Management definitely play favourites & part time staff aren’t valued or recognised much
