I have been working at Nando's UK part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Family vibes. Lots of opportunity to make genuine friends
    - Flexible hours that fit around study
    - Management team very approachable
    - Free meal every shift worked
    - Paid breaks
    - Team building days
    - Regional parties with other restaurants in the region
    - Opportunities for promotion

    Cons

    - No tips (but these do go towards team build days and parties)
    - Work itself can be repetitive
    - When working on a closing shift, these can go on for 1-2 hours more than expected
    - A minority of managers can be lazy at times

I worked at Nando's UK part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Free Nando's on shifts worked for or over 4hrs
    - 40% discount Mon-Thurs and 20% Fri-Sun
    - Free refillable drinks on shift (or a hot drink)
    - Great staff parties
    - Friendly atmosphere and everyone got along in my branch
    - Flexible hours, you can choose the days you can and can't work and your preferred hours

    Cons

    - As it was a centrally based Nando's, if you finish work after midnight (which sadly was often the case) you would struggle to get home in reasonable time, as the tube isn't working anymore
    - Closings always took longer than stated on the rota, usually due to being understaffed or customers not leaving promptly
    - When you stayed longer than time stated on the rota when closing, very rarely you'd be paid the extra time that you spent there. I think I only got it paid twice, and I stayed late every single close. But if you were 5 minutes late you'd get death stares
    - No sick pay

    Advice to Management

    - Hire enough staff so the floor isn't constantly struggling
    - Pay your staff until the exact minute they work
    - Listen to your staff and try to work with them, maybe then the turnover wouldn't be so high

    Pros

Free food plus unsold chicken. Flexible hours. Understanding managers. Lots of team building activities. Internal progression is supported and encouraged.

    Cons

The customers can be awful. And picking up mushy chicken bones from tabletops is pretty disgusting.

    Advice to Management

Open in France, I will happily open a Franchise you guys in Paris!

    Pros

Very flexible hours suited to your requirements, if there are any problems it can be sorted out, decent pay for a student, paid breaks and free food per shift up to £10. Nando's strongly values family and everyone you work with are friends and act as a family. Many benefits including discounts (40% monday -thursday, 20% friday - sunday) and free food :)

    Cons

Busy shifts, and long hours. Sometimes holidays can be hard to book as you'll be trying to take time off along with other colleagues (first come first serve basis).
