I have been working at Nando's UK part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff at Nandos are lovely and although busy it’s a great environment to work in. Employee discount and free food with every shift. Also at Nandos you get a chance to do everything like grilling, working on tills, co-ordination, running, hosting so you pick up a lot of skills.

    Cons

Viewing my payslips was almost impossible before getting a smartphone. It can also get a bit hot in the restaurant.

    Advice to Management

Let staff have the option of receiving wage slips through the post as I would definitely like this.
Maybe talk about introducing skirts or shorts for hot days as we get busy and it gets hot.

I have been working at Nando's UK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced environment with high quality colleagues. Free food and payed breaks. Managers are normally easy going people.

    Cons

Shift ours are not well organised, even with a low hour week. Low numbers of staffs in busy days and not well organised break distribution.

    Advice to Management

General view in busy days, stress is like a chain and envolves all people, so if you give the right amount of care for each person of the chain, all will feel busy but will also feel that someone are looking after them, just that is enough keep everybody satisfied in busy day.

    Pros

Job development, support, training, benifits, free food, discount scheme, cycle to work, Indaba (overseas conference), just a really caring company. I love it!

    Cons

Shift patterns, maybe a few more days holiday to compensate for working through bank holidays/Christmas and weekends.

    Advice to Management

Give different bonus structure for 1st/2nd Assistant managers

I have been working at Nando's UK part-time

    Pros

Amazing employer. Thorough training, tonnes of opportunities for progression, great weekly pay especially for young students with pay rises for buddy trainers. Free food on shift. Loads of perks in other stores through Perkbox, 40% staff discount and regular social occasions - from restaurant teambuilds funded by tips and staff fund, to huge regional parties three times a year with free alcohol. The work is hard but as long as you have good time and management behind you it's bearable. Big on morals and values.

    Cons

The work can be very stressful, and who you work with is so important - both managers and fellow staff. They can make or break the job. Lack of consistency with pay rates throughout stores (some restaurants pay buddies £7.85, other restaurants £8).

    Advice to Management

Stricter regime for manager progression to make sure nobody is cutting corners, it reflects on their work.
