I have been working at Nando's UK full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Autonomy to run your business the way you feel is the right way.

Huge investment in the development of their people.

As a Patrao I get to be a part of more around the region and have a positive impact not just in my restaurant but in the region as well as the company.

Very well looked after with a strong emphasis on work life balance and some amazing financial incentives as well.

Biggest thing is they embrace the differences in people and help you bring out the best in others whilst improving yourself along the way.

    Cons

Genuinley cannot think of much other than it would be good to see more restaurants open in the north west.

    Advice to Management

Be yourself and really push your boundaries because the company will support you 100%

I worked at Nando's UK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free Food (STAFF MENU). 40% discount Mon-Thur 20% Fri-Sun

Alright Work life balance if Under 18/ 18+ do very long hours, open to close normally 9+ hours a day

    Cons

    Management blame you for everything.

I work at nandos for just over a year, at first I thought I could grow within the company, I was young energetic and excellent people skills! And got on with everyone. But a few months later I was getting drained, management would be alright some days, but others they wouldn't.

They have something called OPPS- an independent company who checks the restaurant, at my store Cramlington, yeah it was good at first, but then they cut hours, reduced staff, even tho they** said we were getting busier! (**Management) but then why reduce hours and cut staff?. Everyone felt the drain, it because dull this showed on our HWIFY(customer experience survey) but yet again months went by nothing changed.

When opps do come in, stress levels sky rocket ( which is understandable). But it's complete lies when opps come in everyone act completely different and when they do leave staff don't get any rewards only management go out for a manager meal!!! Which isn't fair.

Overall good company, but you'll soon find out the truth!

Also when leaving the company! Don't give them anymore than 1 week notice otherwise they'll try there hardest to get you to leave on your own accord or look for ways to sack you! Happened with me got a phone call of the Patrao- swearing and screaming down the phone at me! Called HR they didn't seem interested

    Good luck!

    Advice to Management

Treat staff with the respect they deserve! And understand the work they do! It's hard because you don't do anything apart from office work apparently

    Pros

free parties, good equal pay, free food on shifts worked, big discount on food during the weekdays, family like atmosphere

    Cons

you need a big massive personality in order to be promoted through the ranks which is quite politcal, every nandos runs differently so can be hard to pick up if you move staores, they expect a lot from their managers paper work and process wise as well as running shifts and dealing with the general day to day of working with young people
terrible work life balance work all evenings and weekends see family twice a week

    Advice to Management

listen to the team and put in basic procedures to ensure smooth running
