Pros
Direct supervisors are great and care about their staff. Fellow employees share same mindset and goals. Gain lots of knowledge from staff that have been there for a long time (the few that remain)
Cons
The VPs and CEO are greatly disconnected from the staff. No clue as to what it's like to work here. The senior leadership spends lots of money on themselves (salaries, retreats, office furniture) but the lower staff get very little

• Lots of information around the animals so you don’t have to know it all when you start • Positions are all easy • Departments management is great
Cons
• Bad pay • Higher management in main offices don’t care about staff in aquarium building - only one helped with vaccine checks, checking in on staff during cold/hot days, and asking us what we need • No enforcement for what behaviors are allowed at the aquarium and not, including harassment and discrimination from visitors/members. • Most animal care departments are run on volunteers so there isn’t much room for employment.
