RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Newton Europe full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Excellent personal development Fast rate of progression Collaborative business model - not base don individual competition/ sales targets Meaningful and real tangible work - not report writing
Cons
Need to be open and receptive to feedback - even down to colleagues being encouraged to share thoughts after every meeting/ encounter , rather than a fixed annual appraisal - can be alien compared, particularly if under confident Still a young company - both in staff age and how established it is - so get all the benefits and cons of that. Pre-covid expectation is full time away during week (pretty hard to improve the operations of dockyard or surgical theatre if you're never actually there), and has impact on personal life. This has changed during covid, and business open to how to get best balance in future.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Newton Europe full-time for less than a year
Pros
Really good culture compared to the more cutthroat consultancies Whilst the work is tough, the teams are supportive and your colleagues are really fun to be around The work can be industry changing You get exposure to clients in the first week Throughout the company development is a key topic meaning everyone is always striving to improve Open and transparent, and not afraid to continuously look for and areas in which the company/ culture can improved Leadership are approachable
Cons
Work can be stressful, having to persevere on a project before the results go in the right direction, but the team atmosphere means you don’t feel like it’s just you on a problem

Neutral OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Newton Europe full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Fun and nice people who you can make genuine friends with Lots of scope to develop especially in the first few years of your career (although it is hard work) Culture based on principles and not processes - so there is a lot of flexibility in how things are done Social events People in charge genuinely want to improve things even though it might not always look that way (reading some of the comments on here)
Cons
Can be inward-looking - Newton could do more to look at innovation outside and make better use of experienced hires' knowledge. It can get a bit much and take over your life (work and social) especially if you don't have experience of working elsewhere. It's important to have boundaries and take time for yourself during the work week. Diversity and inclusion is an area of development - work is being done to improve this but there's still a long way to go especially for senior team diversity and inclusion of experienced hires

Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We’re incredibly proud of our smart and brilliant people. We focus on continuous learning and development to keep stretching our employees. It’s great to hear you recognised these aspects of Newton too! We mostly work hand-in-hand with clients on site. Whilst it provides great benefits to really getting to understand our clients and their challenges, we recognise that it can be demanding on our people. To try and balance work and life out we ensure that consultants will always be home by 6 on a Friday evening, and never have to work on a weekend. If you have any particular points that you would like to follow up on personally, please do not hesitate to contact hrshared@newtoneurope.com in confidence.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave an honest and considered review about Newton. People are what makes Newton special, so a culture based around fun, friendship and high performance is as important to us now as it was when we were founded. We are open and honest about the fact that we have a way to go to become a truly diverse and inclusive organisation. But we have taken the first step on that journey by formulating a vision for the future of Newton, which everyone can get behind to help drive the desired change.

Pros
The colleagues are generally phenomenal, most people are high energy, outgoing and personable which is just great to be around. Ownership and accountability from the start, lots of room for personal growth and development. I don't think I would have gotten line management experience in the first 2 years of my career in any other job. Over time the experience of working in multiple sectors and getting a range of experiences is likely Early career lifestyle is great, gives you flexibility to be located anywhere in the UK (many grads live at home for a while to save money) and while on client sites get to enjoy the novelty of hotels and food budget. The whole company events every other week and one weekend every other month are just incredible. EDI is a big focus for the company that they're taking seriously, they know they're not great and are actively working to improve it! The company has generally done very well over the covid period and has put employee welfare and happiness as a really strong focus to drive retention while many people are working from home.
Cons
Can lead to burnout through tricky client stakeholders where change takes time and through over working yourself to stick to deadlines for an extended period of time. The travel isn't ideal when you've got a significant other at home or generally like your own bed, this improves with seniority but travel is still the norm roughly four nights a week. Many projects can feel simple to solve but challenging to implement, which isnt quite the job many people signed up for in terms of technical challenge. Newton are a fantastic implementation consultancy, but due to the fees they charge and the guarantee of results there has recently been a lot more public sector (healthcare and defense) projects and fewer private ones, as there are very few private business problems which are high value enough that Newton has the expertise to solve. Which is a worrying trend. Promotion is rapid compared to other industries and some competitors, but it is somewhat capped such that you wont get promoted outside of a certain timeframe, meaning the motivation to go above and beyond can drop off, as you realise you're taking on more work than you have to for little reward outside of the personal stretch.

Cons
Very few cons - after some time the travel can become tiresome but depends on each individual

RecommendsPositive OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Newton Europe full-time
Pros
Very high performance in their field. High expectations and aspirations. High growth and adaptability. Always something new happening. Good development opportunities Smart and hard working people Responsibility as soon as you want it (faster sometimes)
Cons
Culture is a real bubble - employees care so deeply about their Newton life and their Newton perception. People are too hung up on their job and their promotion dates (who got promoted 1 month earlier/later) to the extent it isn't healthy. Generally quite a narrow minded company and area of expertise. Not good at onboarding experienced hires - usually their views are too diverse and result in tissue rejection. Newton are working on this. Not a lot of diversity of thought. Not a great variety of role models at the top.
