Small business mentality... The tale of Narcissism and expendable staff.
Pros
Initially they talk a lot about culture but it doesn't take 3 months in a job to realise this is a lie. They also say it's fun to work for a start-up 'to shape the way the business can go'... when does it stop becoming a start-up? when you can't get grants from warwick uni.
Cons
Bonus' that are promised, then they vanish to sandbanks so they don't have to answer questions. No autonomy in your department. Simon still hasn't found his place in the business so likes to micromanage each department, leaving a trail of inexperienced disasters as he goes. And of course, it's everyone else's fault. Spent everyones bonus on an external consultant who basically told simon and paul the same feedback their staff had been giving them for months, Cheers lads! Patronising trips to the park for team building and the occasional just-eat order to stop everyone moaning. Needless to say they won't consider investing in any real sum's of the money. Pay staff 10,000 under the regional average for their roles - just google it. Their staff retention figures reflect that of a PPI call centre. No career progression - has anyone ever been promoted, ever? or is just demotions and belittling people.
