    Pros

Pros? well, the desserts were good.

    Cons

So many cons that I don't even know where to begin. Avoid!

    Advice to Management

    Get new ones

I worked at Norbrook full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Staff are great people. The experience you get here is second to none.

    Cons

Getting consumables is a hard task here. The management never listen. Salary will never go up, one guy was working 6 years with no pay increase. No sick pay at all. No bonus system in place. Well one, but if your off sick for 3 days in the year you loose the 300.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to ground staff. Visit the staff and ask simple questions like how is the lab going? Pay a bonus scheme, or an incentive for experienced staff to stay with the company.

I have been working at Norbrook full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Norbrook doesnt have pros. The biggest pros are when you get off for the weekend away from the place.

    Cons

Moral is at an all time low. Everyone that works at the company wants out as soon as another job becomes available to them. Money should be better.

    Advice to Management

Try and get the operators that yous have on board. Happy staff means more productive staff.. A decent payrise would help and maybe stuff like time and a half for overtime. Things like that. And also boost employment in the local areas with some permenant contracts instead off 6 month contracts. Maybe organise events for staff. And the difference in treatment for weekly paid staff and monthly paid staff should change so that we are all treated equally

I have been working at Norbrook full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None, unless you live in or near Newry and there are no other job's available.

    Cons

This place is shocking. The CEO arrived three years ago with a plan to turn around many years of under-investment. They have invested millions in kit and buildings. Productivity is still very bad, customers are continually let down and much of the product does not comply with regulations. The CEO always looks for a victim and has created a climate of fear. There are many good people who work hard, but still they are bullied.

    Advice to Management

The management team should stand up to the CEO, but they seem to live in fear. The owner's seems to have no idea about what is going on.

    Pros

Decent role for a graduate to enter the working world.

    Cons

Pay rate does not vary depending on shift schedule. Earn as much on continentals as in 9-5.

I worked at Norbrook full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No pros. Probably the worst pharmaceutical company to work for. The highest personnel turnover I have seen in my working life.

    Cons

The leadership is very bad. There is not a vision nor a strategy. Therfore there is not a good future for this company.

    Advice to Management

Change completely the leadership team and the senior management to start from scratch.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Norbrook full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Will make you appreciate your next employer. Colleagues were good to work with. The morale of the staff is still reasonably good, probably as a result of an ‘us versus them’, anti management mentality. Subsidised canteen.

    Cons

New management regime operate a Ryanair style system of management whereby there is large investment in equipment and the fabric of the company. However the staff are treated with total contempt. The workload is ever increasing while there is a refusal to address the non existent wage structure. The number of good staff leaving is reaching serious levels, leaving serious knowledge and experience gaps and increasing the stress on the remaining staff. Norbrook’s direct competitors are happily employing the ever increasing number of disgruntled leavers. The move towards employing short term contract workers is exacerbating the aforementioned issues.

    Advice to Management

Whether you like it or not, your employees are your greatest resource. At the current rate of employee turnover, productivity and quality cannot possibly be maintained.
