I have been working at North Carolina State University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very friendly staff. Lots of interaction among peers and friendly atmosphere. Health insurance is part of postdoc employment. Campus rent is great. Lots of lakes around campus. Campus location, trees and climate is great.

    Cons

The campus has buildings at different zones. You might have need to drive for meetings, seminars and or instrument usage.

I worked at North Carolina State University full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Research level is absolutely high

    Cons

Young Professors are hired based on their publication record and how much money they can bring. They are not hired based on their behaviour and relation with students. Selfish attitude is visible. High-level students (PhD and Postdocs) are mistreated and their skills are misused in those projects that are not related to them.

    Postdoctoral Fellow in Raleigh, NC

I have been working at North Carolina State University for more than a year

    Pros

The natural environment in NC is great, and people are very friendly. The life there in general is slow and relaxing.

    Cons

To be a postdoc there, the salary is really not high. But I think this is same in many other places.
