    Hard to get in but once you have a foot in the door it is easier to move around There is quite a bit of institutional disorganization and stagnation

    Campus is spread out across two locations. Poor access to good restaurants and bars

    Department of materials science and engineering in NCSU is a good college with first-rate research conditions and excellent professors.

    Cons

    Most research in department of materials science and engineering focus on industrialization such metal and ceramic. The fundamental research show some weakness.
