I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You will make more here at most places in a salary position, and are pretty much guaranteed promotions over time. Good health benefits and 401k, most management will let you flex your time and you may work 4/10s or 9/80s.

    Cons

Not much engagement activity, managers are not usually experts in their employees jobs.

    Advice to Management

Needs to have a better understanding of what their employees are doing.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great working environment with awesome job security. If you don't like what you are working on you boss can move you around to work on something you are interested in.

    Cons

More than three people from my immediate home room group have left to find jobs at different companies because of poor advancement opportunities. Managers are hesitant to let people be promoted.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to work. Multiple opportunities to grow. Help with enhancing your personal development. It is nice to have off every other Friday. There is a lot of talented employees that get unnoticed for jobs.

    Cons

Some Managers do not know how to manage. A lot of underpaid and undervalued employees that get unnoticed.

    Advice to Management

Need to start looking at own employees for advancement and different positions. Start paying attention to your talented employees when looking for positions.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Large company and lots of opportunities to grow or do something different - Stable job - Great benefits and salary - Good work life balance (9/80 schedule, flex hours, work from home at times, etc) - Great people to work with - Lots of opportunities to network (lunch and learns, management presentations and panels, conferences, etc) - Good leadership

    Cons

    - Lack of training and mentorship for new employees - Needs improvement of multiple internal processes to make them more efficient and save $$$

    Advice to Management

Train people better when they get hired or transferred. I’ve seen it across multiple sites that people get a new role and get thrown into fire without adequate preparation.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

4 day work week Pretty much hire anyone Small town environment at this sire anyway. Lots of chance for overtime after the first year.

    Cons

Pretty much hire anyone High mentee to mentor ratio that has been caused by the New Town, ND site's very poor management decision to take on more work than it could handle. Now they are forced to hire way more than the building can handle. You have employees elbow to elbow in some areas. There was talk of local expansion to the building there but the company itself seems too reluctant to spend any funds to do the...

    Advice to Management

Quit promoting your buddies. This New Town site seems to have a good ol' boy mentality to it. They all play golf together among other things. You have some supervisors that need to be let go. You have too many yes men and women in place. Maybe promote someone without a degree that has actual experience with the product.
