Good company to work and very flexible work options. Very good pay also

    Cons

no growth and lot of internal politics

    Advice to Management

Kindly review your management teams performance regularly rather than listening to them. Mostly they dont work and they just time pass

I worked at Novartis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good use of technology and processes. Relatively flexible work hours and a scope to learn. Great culture if your manager is of your same community(Bengali). Lot of opportunity/incredible hike just just because of being part of the same community. Good learning for those interested to peruse their career in Politics. Great career for bengalis in US Advanced Analytics.

    Cons

The only cons are the hard working people being hired. They have no clue how a bureaucratic company functions. There are so many complains about regional favoritism and those who are complaining have no idea on how to play politics. This is a company built on politics and bureaucracy and if hard working people came here expecting great career then you are sadly mistaken. Funny to see how managers sit around the table discussing how to screw around with employees, especially the ones not from their community.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire innovators and hard working people. Better hire people who are ready to be furnitures, who end up losing the guts to move out and finally become incompetent like the ones who hired them.

    Cons

A great deal of bureaucracy and personal fiefdom from top level, strategic initiatives are identified basis personal whims of leaders

    Advice to Management

Stop creating unnecessary levels to accommodate non performing people's, if you can't provide growth options just let them go

I worked at Novartis (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company and the division was really good few years back. Work life balance, Travel Policy and HR Policy was good. Now only the new office facilities are worth looking for.

    Cons

    HR:
Confidential meeting information are leaked and used as tool for career problems.

    Managers:
Reviews here speak about Bengali favoritism and it does exist in USBA. Looking at the problem from the other side of the coin reveals extreme favoritism and gossips against Non Bengali team members. Managers plan to frame associates who dares to speak up. Nonsense GH created a culture of courage among such TL to do anything with associate's career. Its such a disturbing environment that Managers frame Associates, Associates frame Managers, Managers frame other Managers for projects, favoritism, hike, promotion. The hyderabad division doesn't believe in improving Patient's lives but more into Office Politics and Gossips. Confidential information of other associates are shared so as to know internal gossips (private/professional). Every Opportunity/Hike/Promotion discussion happens in the smoking area.

Now this division is probably the worst place to be for anyone looking for a serious career. Would recommend premier colleges like IIT/BITs/NIT to blacklist this company as compensation is based on region and creed and not merit. Associates from their regional background are hired at twice the compensation as that of associates from IITs.

    Advice to Management

Middle management is destroying the company. It may soon be a regional company and not a Multi National Company. Attrition is on the rise among Non-Bengalis and Bengalis who believes in Values and Behavior. Company and team speaks about Values but are the ones who fail on major integrity issues.

    Pros

Great culture and people. Lots of benefits due to the industry and flexibility benefits like home office, vacations, etc. Patient centricity and misión.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities. HR management is poor, no idea who was supposed to be my manager, never had an approach from them.
