    Pros

An organisation that will get the best out of you in the effort to improve and extend lives. Spend your time doing something really worthwhile

    Cons

You'll need to be self motivated and driven - nobody is going to do it for you. It just takes a can do attitude

I worked at Novartis full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. They hired me and closed down the place in less than 3 month. To move a family and house to be made redundant for a site closure is not very nice.

    Cons

    > IT is less than optimal
    > poor stats and clinical trial set up
    > poor practice in study design

I have been working at Novartis full-time

    Pros

Great people, culture, pay and most of the benefits, semi-flexible approach to working, exciting industry to work in. Good development opportunities, if you take charge of your own development.

    Cons

Inexperienced leadership team, who only look after themselves and move on within a couple of years. Very political and not really a speak up culture unless you want to damage your career. High work load throughout the company and hard to achieve unless you work significant extra hours. Great opportunities to move around the company and progress, if your face fits. If not, forget it. Poor sick pay and maternity options. Constant change so hard to find any momentum and continuity which results in poor motivation - you are just waiting to hear when your own job is going. Terrible processes.

    Advice to Management

You are all good people but need to step up as leaders to the wider business and not just your own divisions. Top talent want a real work-life balance, respect and career progression, not politics, fear of speaking out, constant change. We know change is inevitable but you barely get time to settle into one role before it changes to something else. Leaders do not stay long enough.

    Pros

Good company to work and very flexible work options. Very good pay also

    Cons

no growth and lot of internal politics

    Advice to Management

Kindly review your management teams performance regularly rather than listening to them. Mostly they dont work and they just time pass

I have been working at Novartis full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to move upwards if you're prepared to keep your mouth shut.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy; no trust; employees treated like children. Don't open your mouth or you will have your life made miserable.

    Advice to Management

If you want a speak up culture, you need to get your middle management in line.
