    Pros

Good working environment and flexibility. The company is stable, it has great benefits (car, health insurance) the company has a very good reputation in the marketplace.

    Cons

There are not a lot of growth opportunities in the region, specially if you don't live in bogota. Company policies are somehow not very flexible when it comes to career development

I worked at Novartis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent work environment, lot to learn, continuous development oriented training, a good pay master, a realistic approach for solving problems to external customers, less paperwork

    Cons

Veteran bosses holding primitive ideas, difficult to work under such bosses, some veteran colleagues hypothetically analysis problems, unrealistic approach from veteran bosses, they don'the want to teach their subordinate.

    Advice to Management

If any person has to leave for genuine problem like to save his or her family members or may be his physical illness despite having his or her good career track, if he or she wants to come back after recovering his or her challenges management should give him or her an opportunity to excel again.

    Pros

They provided good benefits and opportunity for advancement. They strived to be a good corporate citizen.

    Cons

Had all the trappings of a huge corporation from bureaucracy to micromanagement. It was difficult for them to respond to market threats and opportunities.

I worked at Novartis (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice work environment, room for growth, very good medical benefits.

    Cons

Working with manager and having to role play with clients. Pharmaceutical companies should already know working with manager on office visits is worthless, since clients as well as reps are playing a part to satisfy management.

    Advice to Management

Realize working with your representatives out in the field is a joke. Clients don't care to have you at their office, and calls are nothing more than a dramatization of what pharmaceutical companies want you to do.

    Pros

My last manager was terrific. He treated you like an adult, and praised you on each and every call even if things didn't go well. I would still be here is it weren't for the mass layoffs.

    Cons

Upper management was disconnected to the field force. They combined Diovan with everything under the sun. Need to teach reps to sell more clinically.

    Advice to Management

Train the reps as best you can. Provide clinical selling style. But don't forget to incorporate the relationship based sales model as well.
