    Pros

Lots of opportunity to move upwards if you're prepared to keep your mouth shut.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy; no trust; employees treated like children. Don't open your mouth or you will have your life made miserable.

    Advice to Management

If you want a speak up culture, you need to get your middle management in line.

I worked at Novartis full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Solid income. Good benefits. Great training. Good products.

    Cons

Management is less than poor. Additional training past year one is mediocre. Reviews are a waste of time. People give "green fire trucks" because that is what they are told to say. No true communication. DM's are generally good but several were promoted simply to get them out of sales roles.

    Advice to Management

Get a better grip on the reality of the sales position before you make goals that lead people to manipulate the system.

I worked at Novartis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Helped me find a role paying a heap more at a financial company. Future considerably brighter here than in Pharma.

    Cons

Cleaned house of top ranks sales reps likely in an attempt to save money. Reps who never produced anything were kept while consistent performers were let go.

    Advice to Management

Ruined a wonderful company- Alcon. Sad to stil hear of good hard working people getting shafted.
