I worked at Nuffield Health part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Worked well around studies

    Cons

Staff were friendly and supportive, management communication lacked at times with direction of tasks set not clear. Over all a good place to work

    Advice to Management

Communication across the health club needed, direction from management needs to be improved. Pay was poor, and give back to staff was also poor.

I have been working at Nuffield Health part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free gym membership for employees!!!! friends/family get gym membership for only £5 a month. Amazing facilities (gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, swimming pool etc) You can use a Nuffield gym anywhere else in UK for leisure or work as you can also transfer to other centres quite easily so I'm told

    Cons

As a swimming teacher, it's based on clients so they can't give me a fixed salary so the contract is 0 hours one. This is however, quite normal for swimming teachers unless you work for a school so I can't really fault Nuffield too much on this. Salary is £16 per hour but it doesn't rise with progression or experience. Again tho this is quite normal unfortunately for swimming teaching in general as a profession.

    Advice to Management

Introduce salary rates for swimming teachers based on experience. Unfair that someone who has just passed their ASA level 2 gets paid the same as someone who has taught swimming for 15 years. Perhaps pay people from as little as 12 up to 26 depending on experience\level of teaching.
