    I worked at O2 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Fantastic brand with huge reach
    - Nice offices in Slough with decent facilities (gym, parking etc...)
    - Good career opportunities provided you keep friendly with the correct people
    - Strong focus on development if reporting to the right manager
    - Good mix of people; young and old
    - Great stepping stone at the start of your career
    - Free work phone

    Cons

    - Incredibly poor systems (laptops over 10 years +)
    - Working culture varies between departments, but company is advertised to be flexible and a fun place to be, this is entirely dependent on manager
    - Virtually no recognition for those who put in the groundwork as credit is taken by superiors
    - Development is all down to you and not actively pursued (meaningless 121's) and a terrible PDP process which compares you to others and rating can be determined by someone else!
    - Not innovating enough compared to the market

    Advice to Management

Since the appointment of the new CEO, the culture at O2 has taken a nosedive. It tries to be flexible and fun but in reality this is down to your department; offer it everyone or get rid of it.

Empower younger talent who you claim to want to be the leaders of tomorrow yet senior staff take more credit. Be responsive to change and have a desire to change.

Invest in your IT and resources; give people the right kit to do the job not half broken/dirty/slow laptops.

Recognise people for their strengths, and help develop weaknesses - don't just say, DO.

I really liked O2, but the culture completely changed after the new CEO. It is clear that those who are friendly with the higher ups get far and talented people are forced to be left behind. It claims to be a "digital", "IT led" and "engaging" organisation but it is anything but that.

Having worked for O2 across different departments, homogenise the culture to make it fair to everybody.

I have been working at O2 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Given lots of responsibility early on. Really good starting salary for Graduate Scheme with good off-boarding prospects. Very friendly colleagues to settle you in and help get a feel for business.

    Cons

Worst part is the location, travelling to Slough is horrible and costly on trains and traffic heavy by car. Equally, there is a QA qualification which is very work heavy and has little relevance to roles and actually puts a dampener on the Graduate experience. Furthermore you’re promised rotations but most directorates don’t allow you to rotate and graduates end up simply doing 1 role for 18/24 months.

    Advice to Management

Tailor qualification to relevant directorate with recognised organisation e.g. Digital Marketing course from Google or a HTML coding course from Codeacademy.
Allow graduates to move cross directorate to build personal profile and get a true feel for brand.
Have larger presence in North, allow more graduates to work from Leeds/Preston Brook.

    Pros

    Cons
