    Doesn't Recommend
    Positive Outlook

    I worked at O2 part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Customer-facing work can be fun/rewarding
    Good firm reputation

    Cons

    Stock shortages common.
No coordination between online/direct sales and stores. Often created frustrations and confusion. Inefficient.
Cost-cutting measures removed incentives. Often made demands on time which weren't compensated. Demanded arriving 15 minute before opening. Cut store cleaning service and shifted burden onto staff who then had to stay behind after work to clean the store.
    Generally poor management.
Implemented pay freeze and subsequently made squeezes to commissions. Competition paid better hourly rates and commissions.

    Advice to Management

Aggressive cost-cutting measures might make the books look good in the short-term, but they affect the front-line staff who deal with your customers on a daily basis.

    I worked at O2 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company culture, very into promoting personal development, had great benefits including Gym and restaurant.
Opportunity to experience other areas of the business and exposure to various team and opportunity to really push yourself and try new things.
A lot of independent working and responsibility from the get go.

    Cons

    Student schemes need better structure.
Opportunity to experience other areas is great but if based in the Business directorate, you're less likely to be rotated more like work shadowing is allowed.

    Advice to Management

Get feedback from lower members of the company including interns and Graduates.

    I worked at O2 full-time

    Pros

salary, people, travel, O2 building in slough, training. There were lots of people who tried to make it work well

    Cons

too much centralisation in Madrid, too many middle aged Spanish blokes suffering Dist Tef group think and not enough diversity for a supposedly global organisation

    Advice to Management

bring in some more diverse opinions, don't move people around every two years (so that responsibility becomes hard to pin down) more focus on the way things actually are and less on the rose tinted view. more challenging between Directors

    Pros

Massive L&D function for retail teams which means loads of support for those looking to take their career to the next level.

    Cons

Those moving from other telco's at store level will potentially find the pay a major blocker - particularly those working outside of Central London.

    I worked at O2 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun place to work in general with realistic targets and decent OTE. Good communications between the store and Area Manager and not the often daunting Area Manager visits you get in certain sales companies.

    Cons

Store could be very quiet at times. Commission structure could be streamlined as trying to judge where you are on the scale can be quite tricky!

    Advice to Management

Less e-learning. Its good for regulatory things and products knowledge but not so much for actual training.
