I have been working at OMD full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Comes with all the benefits you would expect from a large network agency - Work on great clients and big brands - Decent pay in line with the industry - Looks good on your CV - Decent perks, free food, socials, media lunches etc - Amazing opportunities for skill development. training etc. - Flexible working as long as you deliver - Genuinely amazing, nice and talented people for the most part. - Low staff turnover at least whilst I was there

    Cons

    - Can be heavily under resourced, especially for clients on a commission model rather than retainer which leads to chronic overworking. I want to be clear that I believe management are doing their best to change this and I've seen it change for many clients but it's slow, and the reality is that putting profitability and client satisfaction over employee wellbeing hurts the people at the bottom, not the top and can be too little too late for some people. - Typical bureaucracy of a large companies especially when it comes to things like HR and IT. You waste several hours jumping through hoops to tick a box on some chief executives list instead of doing your best work. This is mainly driven at the network level and not the individual agencies. - Excessive

I have been working at OMD full-time

    Pros

Really nice people and great atmosphere. You'll get experience with all the industry tools if you look for them. Great mentorship bringing people on.

    Cons

Salary is really poor, especially for new starters. Obviously it's competitive but this industry is full of middle class people who had parental help to live in London. It's just so badly paid for the first 5 years. You don't want to be here forever, its a stepping stone to something more unless you really need the security. Only the very top guys get the big salaries so you have to think carefully.

I have been working at OMD full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - The people. Our wider team hire for personality as well as talent, so everyone is really friendly and down to earth. This community feeling has been lost a little bit currently as we're all working from home full time, but when we're all in the office, we get on so well and there are regular fun initiatives and events to get involved in - World class clients, You're working with huge budgets, representing the most well known and well respected brands in the world. - Caring management. Workload can be a bit full on at certain times of the year, but management does all that it can to spread the workload fairly. Everyone is encouraged to always leave at 5:30 and if you need additional flexibility due to your home situation, this is accommodated. - Fast paced environment where you're constantly learning. If you prefer a slower pace of life, OMD probably isn't the company for you. Personally, I love it. There are strong processes in place to manage workflows -Friendly client team. This obviously differs client to client, but mine is awesome (this can be a rarity in media, sadly) -Lots of training available -Great central London location (whenever we get back to the office) -WFH days as standard (1 - 2 days a week before the pandemic)

    Cons

    - Progression is somewhat stalled at the minute due to Covid - I don't have many cons to be honest. I'm delighted to be working here, after a really negative past experience with our main competitor agency here in London in the past
