Shiny on the outside, not so much on the inside

Pros

The staff that are doing the hard graft are fantastic. This is anyone below senior management level - some really lovely people. The teams work hard together to deliver and pour their hearts into what they do.

Cons

Unfortunately the culture is toxic. HR do not listen to staff concerns and there is a people culture of micro management, bullying and disrespect. It is a shame as many excellent, loyal and hard working people have been driven out of the company by the People team and Senior management. Most of the long standing members of staff have left or want to leave and there is a high turn over in general. Outgoing staff have raised concerns in exit interviews (as I can see is suggested by the People team in response to other honest and true reviews) but these concerns are disregarded. There is favoured behaviour towards certain members of staff and unfortunately unless you are one of those, no matter how hard you work you won’t reap the benefits personally, professionally or financially whilst at this organisation.

Broken boomer culture - AVOID

Pros

They manage to hire lovely people who make up supportive team members, sadly but also not sadly they leave rather quickly when they realise what they’ve stumbled into

Cons

I would like to preface this by saying I hope this company never disturbs the peace of healthcare workers ever again. ORCHA is one if the most toxic environments I've worked in, with a culture of blame and micromanagement. If you value your mental health and work life balance, stay as far away from this company as possible. They micromanaged a whole team of staff out of the company. They waste so much time reinventing their processes and 0 time actually providing the space and time to implement any successful changes. There is absolutely no recognition for hard work below the SLT level. When asking for training and upskilling they lead you up the garden path and leave you there, only offering opportunities to progress and develop to whom they wish. There is a culture of SLT stalking diaries and questioning you on why there are “not enough” meetings in there. All they care about is a team “bEiNg ViSibLE” which is an absolute joke. They have no insight into what your role entails, constantly undermining feedback from staff. They have meetings about meetings about meetings, leaving little time to actually do the work. They will then look down on staff who chose to stick to 9-5 hours, without offering to pay additional for overtime. Will hire staff claiming role is WFH but then change this saying it’s a hybrid model and expect staff to travel hundreds of miles several times a week. If you live outside of company area, please keep this in mind. There is a heavy churn and burn culture I.e. hiring people and sacking them before their probation is over. People who do stay past their probation then leave in droves shortly after realizing what they've entered into. Company is riddled with blame culture, finger pointing and brown nosing. Looks shiny on the socials but in not even mildly brass inside. And that’s not even scratching the surface.

Pros

Amazing team, everyone helps each other. Cannot fault the hard working people at ORCHA, they try their best in a not so ideal environment.

Cons

Just avoid at all cost, if you want to work in digital health and care about healthcare find another company, not worth the hassle. Some of the issues (there’s more than I can count): -Bullying people out of the company who they no longer want working there. -Offering pay rises to certain people (playing favourites) and not for others even though it’s titled ‘company wide’. Whenever a payrise is promised it always leads to negativity because they either try to underpay or give excuses why you’re not eligible. The pay isn’t good enough for such a niche and specialised role. -No clear career path. Even though staff are promised progression, it never seems to happen. Just stuck in a constant loop of boring work and not being recognised. -Encourages teams to talk about issues and then ignores the feedback. To make this worse, they will often do a 180 and actually make the issues highlighted worse with no explanation. Almost feels like you’re being punished for speaking out. -Hiring people on the basis of 1-2 days in office (or completely wfh) then demanding 3 days minimum with no reasoning other than the fact they bought a shiny new office nobody asked for (no doubt to feed their own ego). -No communication between teams. -Allowing clients to treat the assessment team badly with no intervention, blame always lies with the assessment team when the company itself is the issue promising big things that we can’t deliver on. Overall just a very toxic company so focused on profit that they don’t care about their staff. McDonald’s doesn’t have a staff turnover as high at this company!!!
