Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Good for someone that needs income and won’t stay long.

Cons

This is the worst job I’ve ever had. The job itself is okay, but unrealistic goals are set every month and they expect you to meet them. While following strict rules that they’ve put in place, it makes it impossible to do so. It’s practically sales. You’re calling businesses all over the US to enroll them in a voluntary survey for the current employment statistics program. The program can last 2-4 years. I don’t blame them for not wanting to participate either. It’s a lot of cold calling and convincing businesses that do provide data to stay in the program. This company is contracted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (public knowledge). They actually lost the contract a year ago to another company, and they’ve been fighting it ever since. Newsflash! NO ONE WANTS YOU HERE ANYMORE. The practices from the company, the local management at the Dallas location has been so horrible, there have been many days I’ve started and ended my day with headaches. The turnover rate is high and understandably so. No one can thrive in a toxic work environment! Management knows this but they don’t care. They just continue to hit ALL the job fairs in the area, seeking people naive like myself, who didn’t know much about their company. They micromanage you like no other (which they don’t tell you at job fairs or in interviews), there’s NO room for growth, and you have to pay for parking. Your 2 options are: the monthly parking passes (all away from the building), or parking at the meter for over $100 dollars every month (you have to pay and move your car every 2 hours or risk getting parking tickets OR your car being BOOTED). Lastly, their response to the COVID-19 outbreak is deplorable! They have laid off all of their employees, except a select few they deemed “worthy” to work from home. I have been forced to use my PTO until it runs out, and I cannot use sick leave. When that’s been exhausted I have been given a link to file for unemployment. THAT is the company you’re seeking to work for. So you decide if you want to work for a company that doesn’t care about their employees.
