Horrible Company!!!!!!!

Pros

Working for the DOL mission.

Cons

It is mind-boggling how the Labor Department awarded ORI a contract, a company who cares less about its employees and dares to undermine the National Labor Relations Act. Please be adviced that there are NO pay raises, benefits are disgusting especially if you have dependents, and there is absolutely no room for advancement. Furthermore, the company claims to be giving you a benefit/perk and yet, takes it away from other sources, i,e. your fringe and PTO. Also, be prepared to use your vacation days for inclement weather and gov. shutdowns and, "PLAN to get sick" after you have accumulated enough hours of sick leave. Office environment- unbearable- due to poor management, no incentives, no perks, no bonuses, not even a bottle of water. There is also a lot of resentment with co-workers due to unfair treatment- supervisors get to work from home, doing absolutely nothing since they do not process. Some analysts are given "extra projects" to complete, which are obviously supervisors' responsibilities. Employee turnover is ridiculous due to the poor morale, lack of transparency, and inefficiency of management... and well, employees realize how terrible the company is.

Pros

Good people, good location, accessible to transportation.

Cons

Management. You have 3 supervisors and one task manager and they are micromanaging the office, the staff, and the work into the ground. They are very indecisive when it comes to making proper decisions about the work and staff. Management can be very lacksidsial to the point where they just don't care any more, if they ever cared in the first place. They are more concerned with their bigger salaries as supervisor and task manager then they are with making sure staff is respected and treated well.

Pros

The hours and Fed Holidays off, you know what your going to earn every week and your always paid on same days.

Cons

Management is unrealistic and will throw you under the bus in the blink of an eye. There are 3 supervisors and 1 task manager and none of them are on the same page. Your supervisor will tell you something behind close doors but if they are wrong then they will deny it straight to your face in front of the task manager or owners. They don't provide clear expectations in writing because they are always changing things around and dont want to be accountable for the lack of organization. I do think this comes from the top and trickles down to the managers, they seem burned out and I feel bad for them, they probably need to be shown more appreciation so that they can show the rest of the staff gratitude as well. I worked ORI for 3years and I have to admit my mental happiness dwindled down and now that I'm out of there, I feel so much happier and love being able to laugh with co-workers and trust my new managers. There is something great about working for people you respect, trust and admire! I can't stress enough about how important it is to find a good workplace people! If your already feeling depressed at all then DONT go to ORI, you have to be mentally strong to deal with that place.
