    Pros

    Opera has good learning opportunities if you are looking to work in the field of Data Analytics or Machine Learning

    Cons

    Compensation vs Workload ratio isn't that good, though the quality of work is good enough and you will learn a lot

    Advice to Management

    Don't put all the efforts to keep the senior management happy and treat junior members as expendable resources. Soldiers have a great role in winning wars, right? And at Opera, I don't think they get the fair reward they deserve for their contributions in success of projects.

    I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    a good global company, a good beginning for young graduates, full of talent people.
    I have learned a lot since on board.

    Cons

    Recently, more and more experienced veterans left for better opportunities, better salaries, better bonus. And it seems no plan to save them.

    Advice to Management

    The salary are becoming lower than industry average level recent years, so it's a little harder to attract good candidates. The bonus plan are always changing and hard to understand.

    I worked at Opera Solutions (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    I worked at Opera Solutions for almost 3 years, straight out of campus as an analyst.
    In the analytics/machine learning role, I was fortunate to have worked with some great people and great projects.
    The quality of technical work is rather better than any other analytics firm in India (which is a less known fact). Except sometimes, it might be repetitive or may be manual data work but that is a necessary evil part of any project.
    Compensation is decent and bonus component is attractive if you are a good performer.
    To summarize, it is an intense dynamic environment, which gives you a lot of responsibilities even at a young age and thus, the learning curve is steeper than any other business analytics firm.

    Cons

    Work Pressure is high specifically for the analytics folks.
    Senor Management should give more visibility into the whereabouts of the firm.
    Resources should be properly utilized.

    Advice to Management

    Try retaining good people by getting a continuous feedback of their future aspirations and giving them suitable roles.

    I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Very friendly and helpful peers who stand by you, and work alongside you at weirdest hours
    Flexible hours of work, though that can turn around and bite you by taking your work-life balance haywire
    Few people with good, in-depth knowledge of machine learning

    Cons

    Very poor, immature management who dont know what timelines to commit to clients. End up setting unrealistic working hours for employees, without any overtime payment
    Confusion in project leadership, random meetings, no organized directional approach to problem solving
    Absolutely no consideration for personal time. Sends work anytime, anywhere, and expects everything to get done "right now"
    Senior management has almost 0 skills in people management. Hatred towards managers is common. Barely ever you get to hear an appreciative comment, only interested in finding mistakes and belittling people
    Non-existent training program, yet sky-high expectations of highest quality work output at impossible deadlines

    Advice to Management

    Read the galssdoor page and pay attention to the cons. It is more than obvious that the senior management needs a serious overhaul. Consider taking them through intensive training in leadership and emotinal intelligence. Have the courage to fire managers because of whose behavior scores of people leave the company - in the end it will serve you good.

    Learned from the many mistakes managers and execs made. Made some good connections that helped me escape.

    Cons

    Management would lie to keep scientists around.
    Managers known to encourage same day departure when you give your two weeks to save the company a buck.
    Owing to clueless managers, the loudest apes would get their way.

    Advice to Management

    Lost cause. They have no passion.
