Corporate Review -- Great Experience

Pros

Been working with Optima in the corporate office for over a year. I can honestly say that the company culture has grown by leaps and bounds since I started... the warehouses and fleet are more structured and organized, and communication between the teams has greatly improved. There appears to be a stronger sense of comradery amongst the various locations, and turnover has decreased by 20% in the past year alone. The corporate office is taking driver feedback and warehouse issues seriously, and is slowly working on making it a more engaging and fulfilling place to work, one project at a time. From a personal perspective, I can honestly say that I have never felt more valued in my contributions to the workplace here in the office. I feel trusted to perform my duties and tasks, supported when I need assistance or have questions, and in general have a great sense of satisfaction in my work. Even though the company has decades of history behind it, Optima approaches each day with an "all hands on deck / you matter in all ways" mentality that you typically find at start-ups. For me, it's been a really great experience that I hope to continue for many more years.

Cons

Implementing new strategies and programs can take longer than necessary at times, mostly due to the "old dog / new tricks" mentality amongst some of the team members (both in the office and in the field). Pay is on the low side for what you do compared with what you could get for the same position at a larger, more well-known company, but is commensurate with what one should expect from a smaller company.
