I have been working at Oxford University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The name/university brand, opportunities to attend talks from world experts, networking.

    Cons

Very little training. HR is overworked/understaffed so there was a really long delay in sorting out visa arrangements. Providing information about resources and accommodations for individuals with learning disabilities are not well organized.

    Advice to Management

More training opportunity and structure to the training. You can't expect everyone with diverse learning to just pick things up and know what to do. Also, more clear help for people with learning disabilities.

I worked at Oxford University full-time

    Pros

Incredibly interesting work, highly collaborative environment, and everyone who worked with me had a great attitude towards teaching and research.

Very high living costs in Oxford.

I have been working at Oxford University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The University still has a great name, that can open plenty of doors

    Cons

I have the impression that the students are not particularly well prepared. The money is running low and they give you troubles for every expense claim. Salaries for researchers are so bad that it's hard to find a place to live in Oxford.

    Advice to Management

Some of the big money spent for new buildings could go in quality research. Sooner or later the name will not be enough to attract the best talents

    Pros

Great colleagues and support from administration.

    Cons

Living in Oxford is expensive. Also, staff are not included in the college system, so you miss out on some of the Oxford experiences.
