I have been working at Pöyry Energy Consulting full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Focused on employees development, you are not a number. Client exposure, plenty of clever colleagues to work with.

    Cons

Can be stressful at times, but not as bad as other consultancies

I have been working at Pöyry Energy Consulting full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Good friendly multinational environment, specially amongst the junior staff. Senior team very open to assisting and answering questions. Moderate internal training available. Intellectually challenging projects and tasks.

      Cons

Probably on medium-low pay of similar consulting companies. A black sheep/bad apple single director which will demand everything, complain about every nitpick and formatting but not provide any support, mentoring, guidance or team structure. If you're stuck with him, you will either not make it through the probation or never get promoted. If you manage to avoid him, then the company will be a 'moderate' stroll on the...

      Advice to Management

Get some senior team standards in place. Both from exigence , support, team building, promoting. Might be extremely variable by mentor but it does seem that a more common 'same level' approach is needed. HR is also mediocre at best, and will...

I worked at Pöyry Energy Consulting full-time

      Pros

Very friendly staff and high level of challenge

      Cons

I found this to be quite an unexciting introduction to the world of consulting. The work-life balance also wasn't very under control; most people overworked their weekly contract by 5+ hours every week.

Former Employee - Consultant in Oxford, England

I worked at Pöyry Energy Consulting

        Pros

Interesting work Decent work life balance Good opportunities to learn, lots of good people around

        Cons

Low pay Can easily get pigeon holed into a mundane role if not active at getting staffed on interesting projects
