I worked at PAREXEL full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At IT level, there is in place a support and training.
Alway at IT level the systems used are very sophisticated and always in evolution.

    Cons

    - No team cooperation: people do the minimum request and there is no present the project view
    - you can do career development only if you have the right friend that can help you

    Advice to Management

Management need to know what is the real work of the company, as it is clear that upper management is an entity apart from the rest of the company; they decide metrics without knowing what is the real work, and no one provide help in the metrics/project achievement.

I have been working at PAREXEL full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

PAREXEL seems to hire very positive employee's and the overall environment is very supportive. The salaries are competitive with other CRO's and I think might be a bit higher once you're above the entry level position or coming in from another company.

    Cons

It's a CRO so travel is the primary thing that creates CRA turnover. While they try to keep folks regionalized, it is a challenge for any CRO to do this consistently. However, they do listen to you when you are stretched too thin, but it often takes a long time to reduce the travel. As a CRA your performance is based on travel verses quality and that is a problem, but again, it's a CRO and I think that is the nature of the beast being a service industry provider. It's challenging to get everything done with the amount of travel required, this results in really good employee's often receiving the same annual increase as mediocre employee's and this does not result in positive incentives.

    Advice to Management

Move towards getting closer to a real work/life balance environment and focus more on quality than metrics. CRA's have too many sites, as do the CMA's and it makes it very challenging to meet all study timelines when stretched so thin.

I have been working at PAREXEL part-time

    Pros

    - Most (KEYWORD: MOST) of my coworkers are amazing and supportive.
    - Good place to gain entry level experience in the industry and as a recent college grad.
    - Thorough training process.

    Cons

    - Cheap company. Our location recently laid off the security guards, and are having us take over their duties.....
    - Low pay
    - Last minute scheduling makes it difficult to maintain work/life balance
    - High turn around rate. Alot of people stay for around a year and then leave for better opportunities.
    - Bad work environment. While most of my coworkers are friendly, some are bitter and nasty. If there is conflict, instead of talking it out with you, they will head straight to your manager or talk behind your back.
    - Middle management for the most part don't know how or what to properly manage. I barely even talk with or see my current manager.
    - HR presence practically nonexistent.

    Advice to Management

Actually LISTEN to your employees instead of treating us like numbers. We can tell if you actually care for our wellbeing and growth, or are just power hungry and using your position to advance yourself up.

I have been working at PAREXEL part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

some of the people are amazing - note that I only wrote some

    Cons

some of the people are nasty and try to put you down and make you feel like you're worthless. Management is horrible and doesn't know how to manage. They act pompous, pretend to care, and they think they know everything when they don't have a clue about what is taking place on the floor or how to manage. They never employ enough people to cover shifts and more than half the time people are overworked and are set up for failure because quality issues/deviations are more likely to arise. Management may seem friendly, but don't let their initial impression fool you. They will only promote those who kiss up to management. They could care less on your performance.

HR is untrustworthy. Never go to them or talk to them. They will throw you under the bus and lie to your face. Don't trust anyone in management that is currently there - as of September 2016.

    Advice to Management

When employees stick to PAREXEL culture and values, you should as well. Stop thinking that you're above everyone else. When people point out quality issues, stop punishing them for trying to make things better for the company.
