I worked at PIH Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

PIH Health has a great mission statement. Anyone who has a passion for providing high level healthcare services to the patient's, would be attracted to this organization. There are many employees that will share your passion for providing such services. PIH Health is an up and coming healthcare provider, with goals to become a healthcare institution to rival Kaiser Permanente. There are MANY compassionate and competent professional at all levels working for PIH Health. Under mission statement oriented management, this organization has the potential to be a great leader in healthcare.

    Cons

Direct ambulatory care management, in some departments, are hard pressed to reduce operational costs and demand higher level of performance from their subordinates. They place the statistical status of their department above overall team health and day to day functionality. They nurture hard work, as long as it does not overshadow them, or call into question any departmental procedure/process that they have developed or was developed by their approved leadership team. If that hard work is perceived as overshadowing or calling into question the management team, employees are disciplined, even if that hard work was within the employees scope of practice and provided great service to the patient. Hard won team building goals met during the direction of precious management are not being built up, but being torn down. Segregation of vital components of the departmental team is being implemented. Overall outlook of many employees is "why bother". Why bother asking for assistance? Why bother going above and beyond? Why bother reporting incidences needing Quality review to direct management, or Quality Management? Why bother being an advocate for our patient's? Why bother putting your employment health and possible financial security on the line?

I have been working at PIH Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

benefits are ok, they were better a few years ago. insurance premium keeps going up every year, you get dental, vision, medical. auto life insurance, may add more during open registration. you get 7.6 hours per pay period of PTO. $25 gift card from company for xmas and employee appreciation day.

    Cons

PTO is used for vacation, sick and holidays. not much room for advancement unless you are currently going to school, able to do lateral moves for entry level positions. which doesn't really get you any where.
