I worked at Pacific Sunwear full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Very competitive pay
    - Casual dress code
    - You can bring your dog to work
    - Gym and cafeteria on site
    - In my department there were set procedures in place

    Cons

    - I think it really depends on who you work with and who your managers are. I have had a positive experience but know of others who have had to deal with managers who are very difficult to work with. Upper management should really review the turnover rate / comments and feedback from employees about their managers.
    - There can be a lack of work / life balance
    - Heavy workload
    - High turnover rate throughout the years I have been there

I worked at Pacific Sunwear part-time

    Pros

Great staff, feels like going to work with friends rather than just co-workers

    Cons

random hours, may get 15 hours in a week then get none the next

    Advice to Management

more communication from top to bottom

I worked at Pacific Sunwear part-time

    Pros

Employee discounts are great (5 50% of anything, unlimited 30% off), people are really chill and you get to network and learn great interpersonal skills. It honestly depends on your manager, but mine was really great and helped me develop my speaking , selling, and customer service skills.

    Cons

No bonuses and no raises. Chances of promotions are slim and are only available if someone higher up quits/gets fired. You can't really skip positions either so your chances of getting promoted are really small.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized in terms of training and your employees will reciprocate. These kids are most likely high school kids and so they will be rowdy unless you properly train them and set a good example of what it means to work in retail (handling theft, dealing with customers, being unprofessional, etc.).

I worked at Pacific Sunwear part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were flexible hours and definitely an easy workload as a sales associate. Everyone I worked with was friendly and it was a fun environment to be at.

    Cons

Unhappy co-workers when the store manager was around, corrupt management, not many hours during certain months because of payroll.

    Advice to Management

Pay close attention to your store managers because my store manager would tamper with his own hours in the computer system and say he worked more than he actually did. He would come in late and leave early.

I worked at Pacific Sunwear part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, had a group chat to keep in contact with everyone including seasonal workers. Great job for teens looking to earn extra money since the hours aren’t terribly long for holiday shifts.

    Cons

Standing on your feet for 10 hours at a time. Picking up after customers and setting up displays when new merchandise comes in.

    Advice to Management

Add cameras throughout the store and in break rooms.
