I have been working at Palantir Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Brilliant people to work with, totally mission-driven company, strong culture, great product and business model, very successful company, tons of growth opportunities. Highly recommended!

    Cons

Palantir is a flat-hierarchy company, where you make your own path and the structure is very loose and based on merits. You also work very hard (with amazing people, on fascinating problems). If you're looking for a laid-back time, this might not be the place for you.

I have been working at Palantir Technologies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I met some of the smartest people i've seen in my life at Palantir. They're really great, mostly down to earth. The pay is well above UK market

    Cons

Some segments of the business can be political. The job isn't very technically challenging.

    - You will work with some of the most talented and dedicated people in the world - Don't listen to the ill-informed media commentary; the company does a huge amount of good in the world and you get to make a truly meaningful contribution - Lots of responsibility after a brief settling-in period - Great compensation - Best benefits out there and always looking for ways to improve them

    Cons

    - Hard work - Can be slightly political

I worked at Palantir Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You'll work with very talented people. You'll get a lot of responsibility and growth opportunities.

    Cons

Long hours. Management and the PCL team claim to engage with difficult ethical questions, but will not draw red lines and work with whoever pays as long as they're remotely allied. Having the company on your CV may hurt your application in some future jobs.

    I worked at Palantir Technologies

    Pros

The meals and snacks that are available all day

    Cons

The bullying the leaders allow The facade of caring about their employees but not really, not when there’s a problem, no matter how big or small The salaries and bonuses do not equal the talent or hard work put in by most individuals They are cutting all company events but the leaders still get salary increases and increased bonuses etc The leadership sucks But most of all when you don’t stand up for the right thing and defend good employees and value them you are disgusting

I have been working at Palantir Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are a lot of hard problems that we try to solve. But that is becoming less the case over time.

    Cons

    - Toxic company. New hires do most of the heavy lifting - This is a consulting company. You are not working for a software company. - No product roadmap. No product strategy. - Extremely political. You fight the big guys you are out. - Loudest voice wins. Always. (contrary to palantir claims) - Average age: 25, standard deviation of 2 years. 90+% of employees under 32. In short, kids leading a boat. - Cost cutting now that company is trying to IPO. No housing subsidy, less interesting pay, worse software quality, highly questionable cost cutting techniques / strategies. Corp cards for everyone (extravaganza) but cost cuts to product development. - People compete to “who will stay longest in office” as a cool thing. That’s because most employees, while extremely talented, have little to no social life outside of work. If you do, you’re losing that game. - Arrogance. Plenty of it. Masked in fake modesty.

I worked at Palantir Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - A lot of freedom very quickly - Good benefits

    Cons

    - No product or commercial strategy. Palantir pitches itself as a product company when it is really a tech consulting firm - No salary evolution beyond the 20% increase given to you after 18 months. Major salary differences between people occupying the same role. - If you work here, you are just a resource. Palantir’s concern will be to maximize that resource. You will have no growth path beyond the initial freedom given to you. Your learning curve will be steep in the beginning like at any consulting firm, but it will bottom out as you go from project to project without any career advancement - Lack of hierarchy does not equate to meritocracy. Instead, it creates a toxic, political culture where people elbow eachother to advance. Success is determined by what certain people in the company think of you. There is no feedback structure and therefore advancement is not based on merit, but instead on politics - Terrible place for women to work. You will be seen as emotional if you speak out against sexism or bullying
